  • Children of Fallen Heroes Scholarship Act

    • Eligibility
      Under this scholarship, beginning with the 2018-2019 award year, a Pell-eligible student whose parent or guardian died in the line of duty while performing as a public safety officer is eligible to receive a maximum Pell Grant for the award year for which the determination of eligibility is made. To qualify for this scholarship, a student must be: 1) Pell-eligible and have a Pell-eligible EFC greater than zero, 2) Less than 24 years of age or enrolled at an institution of higher education at the time of his or her parent’s or guardian’s death

  • Jon Denzer Bear Hug Scholarship
    • How to Apply

      The Jon Denzer Bear Hug Foundation announces the Path to Good Scholarship Awards Program. Under the Program, (2) $2,500 new recipient scholarships will be awarded to High School students and young adults not 4-year college bound that would benefit from financial help for technical career training and are open to love, hope and a path to good in their lives. The award winners will be granted an additional $2,500 the subsequent year if the recipients remain in good standing with the institution enrolled and further funds are needed to continue their education in their chosen field.

      PROGRAM GUIDELINES & PRIORITIES Seeking High School youth and young adults interested in pursuing certificate/ technical educational or vocational skills in the trades who are willing to work hard and commit to a self-supporting career path. Example of Careers but not limited to: Electrician, Plumber, Automotive Technology, HVAC, Welding, Truck Driver, Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Medical Technician, Dental Assistant, Medical Coder, Emergency Medical Services (EMS), Culinary Arts, Massage Therapist, Paralegal, Graphic Communications, Web Systems, Network Administrator, Surgical Technologist Applicants must have or be on a path to graduate from High School and/or achieve a Applicants must provide evidence of financial need.       The Jon Denzer Bear Hug Foundation announces the Path to Good Scholarship Awards Program. Under the Program, two (2) $2,500 scholarships will be awarded to High School youth and young adults not “college bound” that would benefit from financial help, mentoring, career counseling and are open to love, hope and a path to good in their lives. In addition (2) $1,000 past recipient scholarships will be awarded to recipients in good standing with the institution enrolled to allow them to continue their education in their chosen field.     • Eligibility
      Eligibility A woman is eligible for recommendation by a local chapter if she: is a citizen or legal permanent resident of the United States or Canada; is enrolled in a certification or degree program from an accredited institution*; is living and studying in the United States or Canada for the entire course of study; has had at least 24 consecutive months as a non-student sometime in her adult life; is within 18* consecutive months of completing her educational program which, at the conclusion of, will lead to employment or job advancement. has had at least 24 consecutive months as a nonstudent sometime in her adult life; is within 18* consecutive months of completing her educational program which, at the conclusion of, will lead to employment or job advancement. A woman is not eligible for grant consideration if she: is requesting the grant for use in prerequisite courses needed to secure admission into another program of study; is choosing immediate continuation of her education beyond the current program for which the grant is requested; is enrolled in a post master's certificate or doctoral program.

    • Eligibility
      The purpose of the UMOS National Farmworker Jobs program is to help families improve their economic well being, education, health, and housing situations so they may better realize their potential. To qualify for this scholarship you must be enrolled in certificate and/or other short-term programs not fully covered by federal and state financial aid. The scholarship awarded may be up to $4,400.
