20-Minute Mentor

Designed to fit busy schedules, these video-based programs aim to answer specific questions about a broad range of teaching and learning topics, while providing actionable insights for immediate application

Assessment Academy

This approach centers on using an assessment plan that includes data collection and analysis and anticipates ways to use results in order to improve student learning and drive planning decisions.  This training includes a focus on good practice, continuous improvement, and meeting accreditation expectations. 

Blackboard Training

Designed for both full-time and adjunct faculty, as well as both novice and experienced users, various Blackboard training opportunities are offered to help increase faculty use and proficiency with our Learning Management System.

Excellent! Online Teaching

A professional-development opportunity that explores online learning and teaching at Illinois Central College, this 12-week course helps participants discover a variety of ways to create engaging, effective online courses through personalized activities, as well as interactive discussions with colleagues

Google Apps & Tools

Intended for intermediate computer users, these sessions introduce participants to the collaborative capabilities of innovative Google Apps and Tools, including Drive, Docs/Sheets/Slides, Hangouts/Meet, YouTube, and Sites, among others

Growing Online Learning Conference

Provided by Illinois Community Colleges Online (ILCCO), this annual conference is offered online each February for faculty and distance learning and education technology staff.

Instructional Innovation

Designing classroom instruction that helps students prepare effectively for class, participants will learn to effectively implement active learning and backward design as a means for enhancing student learning and motivation

New Faculty Institute

Provides new faculty with the opportunity to grow and develop with regard to effective pedagogy, best practices, and student engagement through gatherings over the course of an academic year that will help new faculty to build a teaching toolbox and increase confidence in the classroom through assigned readings and facilitated discussions

Providing proven strategies for immediate implementation, this workshop intends to engage and empower learners through immersion in learner-centered education intended to impact the way participants interact with students

Teaching Academy

Designed to provide participants an opportunity to learn and apply best practices in pedagogy through discussions with colleagues and assessment of current practices using the QOCI (Quality Online Course Initiative) Rubric, participants will engage in hands-on activities to enhance their own teaching practices
