Testing Center
The Testing Center at Illinois Central College seeks to provide the highest quality of testing services for our students and community in compliance with the nationally recognized National College Testing Association (NCTA) Professional Standards and Guidelines. Our professionally trained staff strives to administer tests in a pleasant, technologically advanced environment. Our goal is to exceed our clients’ expectations of their testing experience and to assist them in achieving their academic and professional objectives. We believe that, by holding ourselves to the highest level of standards, we help foster the mission of Illinois Central College, which attests: “Through learning, minds change. Types of Testing Offered
Accuplacer Placement
ICC offers the next-generation ACCUPLACER test, designed to help place you in classes that match your skill level and identify your knowledge, strengths, and needs in math and reading.

Credit by Exam
Before ICC awards these credits, you must complete at least one course at ICC.
- There is a maximum number of credits you can earn from AP, CLEP, and IB.
- If you are pursuing a degree that requires 60 credit hours or more, you can apply for up to 30 credit hours earned through AP, CLEP, or IB to earn your degree. If you are pursuing a credential requiring fewer than 60 hours, a maximum of 70% of your credits can be earned through AP, CLEP, or IB.
To earn credits for AP, CLEP, or IB, you must have official score reports sent to ICC directly from AP, CLEP, or IB. Check their websites for details.
These credits will be indicated on your ICC transcript as other credits applied, listing the equivalent course number, title and credit hours. Grades and honor points are not assigned to these credits.
Illinois Certification Exams
ICC’s Testing Center serves as a test site for the CNA and EMT exams, as well as many others such as: IL Barber, IL Cosmetology, IL Esthetician and IL Nail Technician.

Proctoring and Testing Accommodation Services
Need to make up an exam or quiz? Have a documented disability requiring testing accommodations through Access Services? The Testing Center often will “proctor” your exam.
