For information on <a href=\"\/admissions\/how-to-apply\/early-college\/\" target=\"_blank\">how to apply<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>Must be a junior or senior in high school.<\/li>\n<li>You must meet the requirements to enroll, which may involve taking an ICC academic assessment or achieving a specific score on the ACT or SAT. For information on the <a href=\"\/admissions\/academic-placement\/\" target=\"_blank\">academic assessment<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Enroll in the class at the beginning of the semester. Retroactive credit is not permitted<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Where Do I Take Early College Classes?<\/h3>\n<p>Early College classes are offered in two formats. Check with your high school guidance counselor to learn what is available through your school.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><strong>Early College at the High School (sometimes called dual credit)<\/strong> &#8211; Many high schools offer college classes at the high school. Check with your high school to see what is offered.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Early College at an ICC campus during the school day<\/strong> &#8211; Some high schools offer students the option of attending class at ICC during the school day. This is sometimes called Strong Start or Fast Start.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h3>Which Classes Are Offered?<\/h3>\n<p><strong>General Education classes<\/strong> &#8211; transfer-level courses that fulfill \u201cgeneral education\u201d requirements and are accepted at all Illinois public colleges and universities.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Career and Technical Education (CTE) classes<\/strong> &#8211; courses that fulfill requirements for a certificate or applied science degree, which prepares students to enter the workforce when they graduate, usually in two years or less.<\/p>\n<h4>Instructor Information<\/h4>\n<ul class=\"buttons\">\n<li><a href=\"\/faculty-staff\/teaching-learning-center\/early-college-instructor-technology\/\" target=\"_blank\">Technology Resources<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The choices you make today determine what happens tomorrow.
