Admissions
Steps to Enrollment
Apply for benefits by visiting the VA website, selecting “Apply for Benefits,” and then launching the VonApp program to apply for benefits, OR fill out VA for 22-1990 (provided in our FORMS section), OR come into the office to apply.
Students who have already received a Certificate of Eligibility (CoE) previously may want to request a new Certificate as the new copy will provide the most accurate information regarding your remaining eligibility. Reservists and National Guard members eligible for VA educational benefits will also need to contact their unit to get a Notice of Basic Eligibility (NOBE) in addition to the VA benefit application mentioned above.
01Apply to ICC
Apply Online!
When filling out the ICC Admission Form, please be sure to submit an email address that you check regularly. It’ll be the quickest source of communication we’ll use throughout the process.
02Send in your Paperwork
Have your high school guidance counselor send your official transcripts to us. When you take the ACT, make sure to have your scores sent here as well!
03Take your Academic Placement Test
Call (309) 694-5234 to schedule an appointment to take the test. Evening times are available on select nights. You can also check with your guidance counselor to see if your high school offers on-site testing. To make an appointment online, please follow these instructions.
04Apply for Financial Assistance
Be sure to fill out your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and mark “veteran” on the application to ensure the Estimated Family Contribution calculates accurately. FAFSA becomes available on October 1 of each year. It’s best to begin your application as close to that date as possible because aid is awarded on a first come; first served basis.
Visit the Financial Aid website or call the office with any questions at (309) 694-5600.
05Apply for an ICC Scholarship
We award well over 600 scholarships each year! The application is done completely online and opens October 1 and closes on March 1 at 11:59 pm.
Visit the Scholarship website to learn more or start your application.
06Meet with an Academic Advisor
Make an appointment to meet with your academic advisor. The phone number is highlighted on your placement test score report or in the catalog under your program of study.
07Enroll in Classes
After you meet with your academic advisor to plan your course schedule, log into ICC’s eServices to enroll online or come in person to our Enrollment Services Office to finish up!
08Visit the Veteran Affairs office
Bring your Certificate of Eligibility for your Education benefits or your NOBE, and a copy of your class schedule in to be certified with Department of Veteran Affairs. You will need to provide a copy of your DD214 so we can award credit for your military training. Illinois Central College currently awards six elective credit hours when presented with a valid DD214. The Joint Services Transcript can be evaluated for additional course credit.
